Today’s sky at a glance
The table shows the geocentric position of the Sun, Moon, all planets from Mercury to Pluto, the mean North Node and Black Moon Lilith in the tropical zodiac. Speed is given in degrees per day; a negative speed means the planet is retrograde. The cards above summarise the Moon’s phase and illumination, the Moon’s current sign and which planets are retrograde.
Next sign change for every planet
For each body the tool searches forward for the moment it next leaves its current sign and shows that date and time in the time zone you choose. For the Moon this is usually within three days; for Pluto it can be decades away. Retrograde planets can move back into the previous sign, and the table shows that as well.
Any moment, past or future
Change the date and time to look up the planets for a historical event, a wedding day or a future date. The calculation runs in your browser and works for any year between roughly 1800 and 2200.
Frequently asked questions
How often does the page update?
In live mode it recalculates every minute. As soon as you change the date or time it stops updating; press Now to go back to the current moment.
Which planets are retrograde right now?
The third card lists every planet whose daily motion is currently negative. Each retrograde planet is also marked with R in the table.
Are these astronomical or astrological positions?
They are real astronomical positions (apparent ecliptic longitude seen from Earth’s centre) expressed in the 30° signs of the tropical zodiac, which is how Western astrology measures them.
