Why these three

In modern astrology the Sun sign is associated with your core identity, the Moon sign with emotional needs and the rising sign with the first impression you make. Together they give a quick sketch that is more personal than the Sun sign alone, which is why the trio is so often shared.

What needs a birth time

The Sun sign only depends on the date, apart from births on the day of a sign change. The Moon changes sign every two to three days, so on some dates it needs the time. The rising sign changes every couple of hours and always needs a time and place. If the Moon changed sign on your birth day and you leave the time empty, both possible signs are shown.

Frequently asked questions

Does the share image include my birth date?

No. It only shows the three signs and their keywords, so you can post it without revealing your birthday or birthplace.

Why is my Moon sign different from a newspaper horoscope?

Newspaper horoscopes use the Sun sign only. The Moon sign is calculated from the Moon’s actual position at your birth.

I don’t know my birth time. What can I still use?

The Sun sign, and usually the Moon sign. The card tells you if the Moon changed sign that day; the rising sign stays empty until you add a time.
